The story of Rasasi
Rasasi was born in Dubai in 1979, long before the city became the commercial showcase it is today. The house started with traditional Gulf perfumery: concentrated oils, oud and blends worn on skin or clothing. It then spread across the region through its own network of shops. Over time the catalogue opened up to Western-style sprays without dropping the oils. Some of its fragrances are often compared to department-store and niche creations, such as La Yuqawam with its smoky leather. Hawas for Him, released in the mid-2010s, changed the scale of the brand. A sweet fresh scent that lasts all day was exactly what fragrance fans were hunting for, and it became a summer talking point. Outside the Middle East it is still the usual entry point to Rasasi.
An olfactory signature
Hawas for Him sums up the modern side of Rasasi. Apple, lemon and bergamot open on a sweet freshness warmed by a pinch of cinnamon. In the heart, cardamom and orange blossom frame a juicy plum that rounds everything off. A base of ambergris, driftwood and musk leaves skin smelling faintly salty. This is no austere marine. It reads more like stepping out of a sweet-scented bath. Projection is far beyond what you expect from an aquatic.
Which Rasasi perfume to choose?
In our database Rasasi is represented by Hawas for Him, a masculine aromatic aquatic in eau de parfum. Choose it for summer and the shoulder seasons if classic fresh scents fade too fast for you. Two sprays are enough because it carries far. If you want something more mineral and less sweet, try Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme. For an ambery evening option, Afnan 9pm goes the other way.
