What does White Peach smell like?
Bite into a ripe white peach: juice runs, the smell is soft and almost floral, with an almond undertone. The white peach note keeps that freshness. It is less syrupy than yellow peach and less about the fuzzy skin. It smells a bit like sweetened water. On skin it stays in the opening and soon hands over to flowers and musks.
Origin and production
Peach (Prunus persica) comes from China. White-fleshed varieties are less acidic and more fragrant than yellow ones. The fruit isn't distilled. Peach in perfumery relies on lactones, especially gamma-undecalactone, traditionally called aldehyde C-14. White peach adds watery and floral notes on top to brighten the fruit.
How perfumers use it
White peach adds juice to a floral without making it sweet. It pairs with magnolia, peony, mandarin and white musks. L'Eau par Kenzo (1996) teams it with water lily and mint in a very clear aquatic floral. Givenchy Play for Her (2010) sets it over peony and tiare. Parfums de Marly Valaya (2023) blends it with aldehydes and orange blossom for a more polished effect.
How to wear it
White peach suits spring and summer days. These are easy scents: three sprays are fine at the office, and Yes I Am Glorious stays polite despite its milky base.
