Our take
What does Dior Homme Sport smell like?
The Dior Homme Sport name dates back to 2008, but the bottle on shelves now holds a 2021 formula. It was one of François Demachy's last perfumes for Dior before he retired. The start is very bright. Calabrian bergamot and Italian lemon are lifted by aldehydes that feel like soap foam. Then the heart turns resinous. Elemi gives a peppery, almost lemony freshness and pink pepper keeps things moving. Incense takes over from there. It stays clear and dry, with none of the church smoke you might fear, and it sits on woods and light amber. Earlier versions leaned on candied ginger in 2008, iris in 2012 and blood orange in 2017. Next to Bleu de Chanel it smells crisper and less sweet. This rework gave the line a real personality. The aldehydes fade after an hour and leave a soft, resinous trail that smells like warm stone.
When to wear it
Ideal for summer office days because it smells clean without reading as shower gel. Three sprays on the chest last a full working day.
It belongs to the Woody, Citrus family. Dior Homme Sport is one of 56 creations by Dior in our encyclopedia.
