Our take
What does Eau de Rochas Citron Soleil smell like?
In spring 2023 Rochas gave its 1970s Eau de Rochas a summer spin. Citron Soleil came out as a 100 ml eau de toilette. Interparfums credits perfumer Guillaume Flavigny, who describes it as an updated eau de Cologne. The brand promised the foot of a lemon tree on the Riviera. The opening delivers on that. The lemon is juicy and a little bitter, backed by fresh neroli and green fig leaf that smells of sap. The heart turns softer. Orange blossom, a light rose and an aquatic floral accord give the feel of skin rinsed in cool water. The base stays quiet with white musk, pale amber and dry woods. Compared with the original Eau de Rochas, which is more citrusy and leans chypre, Citron Soleil is simpler and more watery. It works like a holiday body mist.
