What does Musc Noble smell like?
Guerlain added Musc Noble to its Les Absolus d’Orient collection in 2018, a year after Oud Essentiel. Thierry Wasser composed this floral woody musk for limited distribution in a 125 ml bottle. The opening warms the skin right away. Saffron brings its leathery tone while pink pepper sparkles and geranium adds a green, peppery side. In the heart, rose meets musk. This is not a laundry musk but a denser material, almost velvety, that clings to skin. The base slides toward cistus, an amber resin with a slightly animal feel, while cedar dries everything out. A white amber keeps it bright. It wears as unisex without trying. Next to Frédéric Malle’s Musc Ravageur, which leans on vanilla and spice, Musc Noble comes across as more floral and more restrained. On skin it stays soft for hours.
When to wear it
An autumn and winter musk for evenings, or for the office in small doses. One spray on the neck and one on the wrist is plenty.
