What does Jicky smell like?
Created by Aimé Guerlain in 1889, Jicky is one of the oldest fragrances still sold and among the first to pair natural materials with synthetics such as vanillin and coumarin. Worn by men as much as women from the start, it never settled the gender question. The opening is aromatic: bergamot, lemon and abundant, almost herbal lavender. The heart blends rose, jasmine and iris into powdery softness. Then comes the base that caused a stir: warm vanilla and tonka bean, crossed by civet, animalic and a little indecent. That tension between cleanliness and sensuality makes Jicky living history.
When to wear it
Wear it in cooler weather if you enjoy contrast. Archive lovers and fans of sophisticated lavender treasure it.
