What does Epic Man smell like?
Launched in 2009 by the Omani house Amouage, Epic Man takes inspiration from trade along the Silk Road. Its pyramid reads like a merchant’s inventory: the opening mixes pink pepper, saffron, nutmeg and cardamom over incense that is already very present. The heart pairs bitter, balsamic myrrh with a geranium that adds a cool, rosy touch. The base is a dark fresco: incense again, oud, leather, patchouli and cedar. What stands out is the balance between smoke and spice: the scent is never heavy or sweet, but dry, airy, almost mystical. It evokes caravans, Orthodox churches and spice markets, with great depth and remarkable longevity.
When to wear it
For winter evenings and special occasions; it delights lovers of incense and complex perfumes.
