Our take
What does Kenzo Homme Sport smell like?
Kenzo added Kenzo Homme Sport to its men's line in 2012. François Demachy is credited with the formula, a woody spicy built for hot weather. The opening smells like cold water. Grapefruit and lemon are tart while mint gives an almost physical chill. The heart moves to geranium, slightly rosy and green. Ginger and a few spices add just enough warmth to keep it from smelling like shower gel. The base sets dry cedar and clean vetiver with no weight at all. It keeps the green, airy feel of the 1991 Kenzo pour Homme, with less marine iodine. Compared with Chanel's Allure Homme Sport, which is rounder and more ambery, this one is thinner and drier. It doesn't last long, which suits the genre. A peppery Extrême version followed in 2013, with elemi and sea notes.
