Our take
What does Soleil Neige smell like?
Soleil Neige joined Tom Ford's Private Blend collection in 2019, following Soleil Blanc. The name says it all: winter sun glaring off the snow. The perfumer credited is Olivier Guillotin. Bergamot opens, but carrot seed is the surprise. Earthy and a little iris-like, it gives the start a skin-like texture. The heart gathers orange blossom, jasmine, Turkish rose and a white flower accord. None of it is heady. The flowers stay bright, almost milky. Benzoin, vanilla and labdanum form the base and add a soft resinous warmth. The whole thing suggests a luxury sunscreen worn at altitude. Soleil Blanc is more ambery and leans on coconut. Soleil Neige is cleaner and more floral. The price is pure Private Blend, steep for something this gentle. Try a sample before committing to a full bottle.
When to wear it
A luminous scent that works from the ski slope to the beach. Two sprays on skin and one in the hair.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Soleil Neige is one of 33 creations by Tom Ford in our encyclopedia.
