Our take
What does Flowerbomb Nectar smell like?
Viktor & Rolf released Flowerbomb Nectar in 2018 as an Eau de Parfum Intense. Retailers credit Domitille Michalon-Bertier alongside Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Carlos Benaim, the team behind the original Flowerbomb. The grenade bottle takes on a faceted diamond shape here. The opening is a surprise. Blackcurrant bud and bergamot are cut by a gunpowder accord that smells smoky and a little metallic. The effect is brief. The heart soon turns jammy with apricot-tinged osmanthus, orange blossom and jasmine sambac. The base is loaded with vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin. Patchouli is listed, yet many noses look for it in vain. Compared with the 2005 Flowerbomb, Nectar is sweeter and carries less patchouli. At times it drifts toward cotton candy. If you found the original too dry or too earthy, this is a rounder option.
When to wear it
A winter evening scent, best on a wool sweater or a scarf. Two sprays are plenty, the trail is big.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Flowerbomb Nectar is one of 12 creations by Viktor & Rolf in our encyclopedia.
