The story of Pierre Guillaume
Pierre Guillaume founded his house in the early 2000s as Parfumerie Générale. He composes the scents himself, which is still rare in niche perfumery. Each creation gets a number, like a lab reference. The house later took its founder's name: Pierre Guillaume Paris. Several collections sit side by side, including a Rework series that revisits older formulas. Le Musc et la Peau, number 4.1, comes from that approach. It reworks the musk-milk accord of an earlier house scent, Musc Maori, and drops the chocolate. Most sources date this version to 2016. It comes as an eau de parfum and an extrait.
An olfactory signature
Pierre Guillaume likes tactile accords and milky textures. Le Musc et la Peau is the clearest example. Seven different musks rebuild the smell of clean, warm skin. Ylang-ylang adds a soft, almost creamy floral note. Rosemary slips in an unexpected freshness. Tonka bean, amber, cedar and vanilla hold the base. It stays close to the body and never gets loud. This is a musk for yourself rather than a trail for others.
Which Pierre Guillaume perfume to choose?
Le Musc et la Peau suits anyone who likes soft musks and skin scents. It works in every season for men and women. If you want something people notice across a room, look elsewhere. Spray three or four times, on skin and on a jumper. Musk shows up better on fabric. For more intensity there is also an extrait. Our view: it is one of the most comfortable musks in French niche perfumery.
