Our take
What does Bottega Veneta pour Homme Essence Aromatique smell like?
Two years after the women’s Essence Aromatique of 2014, Bottega Veneta launched its masculine counterpart in 2016, Bottega Veneta pour Homme Essence Aromatique. Amandine Clerc-Marie composed it as an eau de cologne, sold in sizes up to 200 ml. It opens bright with bergamot and lemon, all zest. The heart leans herbal. Clary sage brings a slightly soapy note and mint a clean coolness that never smells like toothpaste. The base is the most interesting part. Indonesian patchouli and Siberian pine draw a woody, resinous trail with a leathery feel. It lasts longer than most colognes. Next to Terre d’Hermès, another citrus woody, Essence Aromatique is greener and lighter. It also has less of the mineral side. It is the kind of cologne that works with a suit or a T-shirt. It suits anyone who finds classic colognes too fleeting.
When to wear it
A cologne for spring and summer, at the office or on weekends. Spray generously on your shirt, the pine stays for hours.
It belongs to the Woody, Aromatic family. Bottega Veneta pour Homme Essence Aromatique is one of 1 creations by Bottega Veneta in our encyclopedia.
