Our take
What does Eau Dynamisante smell like?
Clarins introduced Eau Dynamisante in 1987 as a treatment fragrance. The idea was a scented water that also carries plant extracts, ginseng among them, meant to tone the skin. No perfumer is credited. Lemon and orange open on a frank, sunny-kitchen note. Petitgrain adds green bitterness and coriander a peppery edge. The heart smells like a herb bed. Rosemary and thyme lead, cardamom warms things slightly and carnation slips in a hint of clove. Everything stays clean. A light, almost earthy patchouli holds the base and keeps the whole thing from vanishing in ten minutes. Staying power is still modest. Compared with Dior's Eau Sauvage, another citrus aromatic classic, Eau Dynamisante is more herbal and less woody. Use it like a cologne and don't bother counting sprays. It's the kind of bottle that lives next to the shower for years.
When to wear it
Spray it all over after a shower on hot mornings. Men and women wear it alike.
It belongs to the Citrus, Aromatic family. Eau Dynamisante is one of 5 creations by Clarins in our encyclopedia.
