What does Cool Water smell like?
Cool Water came out in 1988 and firmly established the aquatic aromatic family on men’s counters. Pierre Bourdon grafted a sense of sea air, novel at the time, onto a classic fougère frame. Mint and lavender make for an icy, almost mentholated opening, spiked by lightly spicy coriander. The heart’s geranium adds a green, rosy facet, tempered by jasmine and soft sandalwood. Cedar, musk and amber in the base keep things squeaky clean, with a salty trail that lingers. Its influence on the fresh fragrances of the following decades is hard to overstate.
