What does Portrait of a Lady smell like?
Portrait of a Lady, created by Dominique Ropion for Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle in 2010, borrows its title from Henry James’s novel. It is a monumental rose built with rare density. From the first spray, the rose is loaded with raspberry and blackcurrant, fruity and almost jammy. The heart darkens it: deep patchouli, smoky incense and warm cinnamon give it the texture of crimson velvet, somewhere between church and boudoir.
