Our take
What does Dahlia Divin Le Nectar de Parfum smell like?
Givenchy introduced Le Nectar de Parfum in June 2016, two years after the Dahlia Divin eau de parfum. François Demachy took his own formula and pushed it toward something denser, dressed in a gold-toned bottle. Mimosa leads. It is powdery and slightly honeyed, with that pollen quality you spot right away. Sambac jasmine follows, backed by a fairly round rose. The heart stays bright, though you can already feel the base pressing up. Tonka and sandalwood arrive early and never leave. Vetiver adds a bit of dryness, and the vanilla several retailers mention makes the whole thing more gourmand. Note lists vary from source to source, which says something about how loosely it was marketed. Next to the airier 2014 Dahlia Divin, Le Nectar feels like the same gold dress cut in velvet.
When to wear it
An evening perfume for winter that does not handle heat well. One or two sprays on the neck are more than enough.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Dahlia Divin Le Nectar de Parfum is one of 40 creations by Givenchy in our encyclopedia.
