Our take
What does Organza smell like?
Givenchy launched Organza in 1996. Sophie Labbé composed the formula and Serge Mansau designed the bottle as a draped column, a woman's body in glass. It's floral from the very start. Gardenia and orange blossom mingle with bergamot, while nutmeg brings spice within minutes. Green notes lighten the load. The heart is dense. Tuberose and jasmine are surrounded by honeysuckle, iris and peony. The base leans toward amber. Vanilla, guaiac wood and cedar give a woody warmth that lasts the whole evening. Filed as an oriental floral, Organza keeps the full volume of 1990s perfumery. Compared with Dior's Poison, it's softer and less fruity, yet just as present. It has kept loyal fans for nearly thirty years. One spray does the job by day, and you can double up at night.
When to wear it
A scent for winter evenings or big occasions. One spray at the neckline, since it fills a room fast.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Organza is one of 40 creations by Givenchy in our encyclopedia.
