Our take
What does Eau de Givenchy Rosée smell like?
Givenchy released Eau de Givenchy Rosée in spring 2019 as a flanker to the 2018 Eau de Givenchy. That one was itself a reworking of a 1980 house fragrance. No perfumer was officially named. The opening is unusual for a mainstream floral. Osmanthus smells of brewed tea and dried apricot, and mandarin brightens it without adding sugar. The heart is meant to feel like dew on a garden. The rose stays fresh and a little green. Water hyacinth gives it a watery side, and jasmine sambac rounds things out. The base is light: clean white musks with a touch of patchouli for staying power. Next to Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, another sheer floral from the same group, Rosée is less powdery and more aquatic. It is a morning scent and fades fairly fast. It stays pleasant as long as you don't expect depth.
When to wear it
For spring and summer, from the office to the Saturday market. Three or four sprays, refreshed in the early afternoon.
It belongs to the Floral family. Eau de Givenchy Rosée is one of 40 creations by Givenchy in our encyclopedia.
