What does Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver smell like?
In spring 2022, Guerlain added Nerolia Vetiver to the Aqua Allegoria range. In-house perfumer Delphine Jelk has said she fell for Calabrian neroli and for Italy itself. The bee-patterned bottle is refillable. The opening smells like a garden. Crushed basil meets bergamot and petitgrain with a slight bitterness. The heart sets up the neroli, bright and a little soapy, surrounded by green fig and orange blossom. Rose stays in the background. The base is neat rather than warm. Vetiver brings an earthy, clean touch, and white musk stretches out the freshness. Think of a white shirt ironed and dried in the sun. Compared with Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, which is more lemony and much pricier, Nerolia Vetiver is greener and more herbal. A Forte eau de parfum version followed in 2023.
When to wear it
A summer scent for the office or the weekend, to spray freely. It lasts about three hours, longer on clothes.
