What does Neroli Portofino Acqua smell like?
In summer 2016 Tom Ford spun his 2007 Neroli Portofino into an Acqua version. This unisex eau de toilette costs less than the Private Blend line and aims at a wider audience. The perfumer has not been confirmed. The opening stays true to the family, with bergamot, lemon and petitgrain as crisp as an ironed shirt. Neroli and orange blossom follow with their hay-like facet. They seem to be seen through steam rather than in full sun. The base is where it changes most. A light amberwood and white musk give a fresh laundry feel that outlasts the citrus. Next to the original Neroli Portofino, which sparkles more and feels more aromatic, Acqua is softer and simpler. It works as a gateway to the line more than as a substitute for the original.
When to wear it
A summer daytime scent to spray generously after a shower. It fades within a few hours, so keep the bottle close.
