Our take
What does Mademoiselle Guerlain smell like?
Guerlain introduced Mademoiselle Guerlain in 2014 as a boutique exclusive. Thierry Wasser composed it. Several bloggers noted that it reuses the formula of La Petite Robe Noire Modèle 2 from 2011, under a new name. The opening is greener than you'd expect. Galbanum stings the nose while lemon and bergamot brighten it, and that slightly sticky freshness lasts a few minutes. Then everything softens. Iris brings its grey powder and orange blossom adds a honeyed glow. The marshmallow feels like biting into a soft sweet. The base is classic Guerlain vanilla over white musks. It smells clean and confectionery without tipping into cloying. Next to La Petite Robe Noire eau de parfum, which is fruitier with cherry and black tea, Mademoiselle Guerlain is gentler. It is now hard to find, since the house withdrew it.
