What does MMMM... smell like?
Juliette Has a Gun released MMMM... in 2016. The brand describes it as a gourmand accord of vanilla and neroli, and the name with its four Ms and trailing dots says the rest. The opening is juicy raspberry, with geranium and fresh neroli keeping the sugar from taking over. The heart is floral and creamy: orange blossom, jasmine and tuberose. You get thick white petals softened by vanilla that rises slowly. Patchouli and sandalwood sit underneath. After an hour it turns almost milky, a soft vanilla cloud that sits close to the skin for the rest of the day. Compared with Lancôme's La Vie est Belle, MMMM... is less praline and more floral, with a bolder raspberry. That raspberry is also its weak spot. Some find it overwhelming in the first half hour, especially if you overspray.
When to wear it
A weekend gourmand for autumn, best on a soft sweater. Two sprays are enough because the raspberry speaks up fast.
