What does Midnight Fantasy smell like?
Midnight Fantasy reached a few department stores at the end of 2006 and went worldwide in early 2007. It is a flanker of Fantasy, the Britney Spears scent released in 2005. The perfumer has not been confirmed. The opening is very fruity. Black cherry, plum and raspberry make a dark, slightly sour syrup. The heart keeps the same mood. Orchid, iris and freesia bring a floral softness that calms the fruit. Iris even adds a welcome hint of powder. Vanilla builds the base. Amber warms it and musk pulls it closer to the skin. Compared with Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy is less cupcake and more jam, with a dark-fruit taste that sets it apart. Nobody would call it sophisticated. It still delivers what it promises: sweet, cheerful and easy to wear. The price is low too.
When to wear it
An evening scent for autumn and winter, in small doses. Two sprays are enough because the sugar builds quickly.
