Our take
What does Sweet smell like?
In October 2014 Lolita Lempicka launched Sweet, a reworking of its 1997 Premier Parfum by Anne Flipo. The brand's famous apple turns cherry red. The opening smells like sweets: candy-apple cherry and icing sugar, very nostalgic. The heart calms things down. Iris brings a dry powder and angelica a green bitterness. Cocoa absolute gives the effect of a liqueur cherry dunked in dark chocolate. The base relies on a generous dose of musk and a cashmeran that smells like clean wool. The trail stays sweet for a long time. When it came out, Auparfum linked it to the trend started by Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire, another gourmand cherry. Sweet is more chocolatey and less almondy than the Guerlain. Opinions split sharply. Some smell a successful dessert. Others smell chemical syrup.
When to wear it
Keep it for cold days and relaxed weekends. One spray is enough since the sugary musk spreads quickly.
It belongs to the Floral, Gourmand, Fruity family. Sweet is one of 5 creations by Lolita Lempicka in our encyclopedia.
