Our take
What does Jasmin des Anges smell like?
Dior added Jasmin des Anges to La Collection Privée in 2018. François Demachy, then the house perfumer, drew on the Baie des Anges in Nice. It opens with a flash of bergamot that fades fast. Then apricot takes over, honeyed and fleshy, with the fuzz of peach skin. Jasmine arrives next to it, creamy and sweet. Osmanthus adds a tea-like shade that keeps it from tasting like jam. The base of white musk and vanilla stays soft and clean. On some skins a small spicy note suggests ylang-ylang. Compared with J'adore, the house's other jasmine, Jasmin des Anges is less lavish with flowers and much more about the fruit. It wears just as well on men. The apricot and jasmine pairing recalls a warm fruit tart, minus the butter and the crust. The tea note is subtle but it matters.
When to wear it
A sunny late-morning perfume for a lunch or a walk by the water. Three sprays on bare skin and the apricot follows you into the evening.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Jasmin des Anges is one of 56 creations by Dior in our encyclopedia.
