Our take
What does Boss The Scent for Her smell like?
Hugo Boss launched The Scent for Her in 2016, a year after the men’s The Scent. It is built from very few notes. Honeyed peach and fresh freesia open it. The peach leads, round and juicy, with none of the sharpness of unripe fruit. In the heart, osmanthus carries the fruit forward with its apricot and light leather facets, which keeps it away from candy. The base is roasted cocoa. Don’t expect sweet chocolate. It smells more like bitter cocoa powder, softened by musk. That brown finish gives the scent an evening feel that many fruity florals lack. Longevity is decent for an eau de parfum, nothing more. Next to Lancôme’s La Vie est Belle, another big-selling floral gourmand, The Scent for Her is less sugary and more hushed. It may lack the character to stick in your memory.
When to wear it
An autumn evening scent that can go to the office in small doses. Two sprays on the wrists will do.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Boss The Scent for Her is one of 35 creations by Hugo Boss in our encyclopedia.
