What does Do Son smell like?
Composed by Fabrice Pellegrin and released in 2005, Do Son takes its name from a Vietnamese seaside resort where one of Diptyque’s founders spent part of his childhood. Here, tuberose is not opulent but airy, as if carried on the sea wind. The opening brings together orange blossom, powdery iris and rose in a delicate floral clarity. In the heart, tuberose blooms, milky and green, lifted by pink pepper for a little sparkle. Soft benzoin and musk in the base leave a lightly resinous, clean trace. Do Son is a sunny, sheer tuberose for those intimidated by the classic, heady versions.
When to wear it
Wear it in summer, on holiday or at a terrace lunch. It suits those who love light, elegant white florals.
