Our take
What does Gentlemen Only Casual Chic smell like?
Givenchy launched Gentlemen Only Casual Chic in early 2015 as the third member of the Gentlemen Only line, which began in 2013. Simon Baker stayed on as the face, and the bottle turned blue with orange accents. The house never clearly named a perfumer. The opening plays fresh spice. Ginger, juniper berries and cardamom give a gin and tonic feel, clean and prickly. The heart is woody. Birch leaf brings a green, faintly smoky note while cedar provides dry structure. The base rounds things off with sandalwood and ambroxan, which leaves a familiar mineral trail. Compared with the original Gentlemen Only, more peppery and classic, Casual Chic is lighter and more modern. It also follows the ambroxan trend, which makes it less distinctive. Longevity is decent for an eau de toilette.
