Our take
What does Play for Her Intense smell like?
Givenchy launched Play for Her Intense in October 2010, two years after the men's Play Intense. Emilie Coppermann and Lucas Sieuzac composed this feminine version, which sits in the amber floral family. Downy peach and pink pepper open the scent. Orange blossom softens them almost at once. The heart moves somewhere more exotic. Tiare flower and orchid feel creamy and sunlit, and magnolia keeps them from getting heavy. Amyris adds a light woody note halfway between sandalwood and resin. The base is the best part. Benzoin, patchouli and sandalwood build a resinous warmth that tonka sweetens just enough. The purple bottle was designed to look like a digital music player, a nod to the Play theme. It shares Flowerbomb's taste for sweet patchouli but stays more resinous and much less pink.
When to wear it
An autumn and evening scent that turns heavy in real heat. Two sprays are plenty since it lasts for hours.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Play for Her Intense is one of 40 creations by Givenchy in our encyclopedia.
