Our take
What does Le Rêve Nirmala smell like?
Molinard, the Grasse perfume house, released Le Rêve Nirmala in 2017 as an eau de toilette. Mathieu Nardin wrote this gourmand spin on Nirmala, the house's exotic fruity scent. The start smells like sorbet. Bergamot, mandarin and blackcurrant ride on a very ripe peach nectar. A touch of magnolia stops it from turning into syrup. In the heart, exotic fruit notes curl around orchid. Rose and violet add a powdery, almost lipstick texture. Then the base changes scale. Praline, chocolate and vanilla take over, held up by sandalwood and a noticeable patchouli. That patchouli and chocolate pairing recalls Mugler's Angel, only rounder and less sharp. The chocolate lingers on skin for a long time. For an affordable eau de toilette, its staying power is a surprise. Molinard sells it at a price well below the big designer gourmands.
When to wear it
A gourmand for cold afternoons and evening dates. Two sprays are enough since the praline base swells quickly.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber, Gourmand family. Le Rêve Nirmala is one of 8 creations by Molinard in our encyclopedia.
