Our take
What does Aqua Allegoria Passiflora smell like?
Passiflora joined Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria line in 2018. The collection, created in 1999, gathers fresh scents that each focus on one material. Here it is passion fruit. The opening brings together bergamot, lemon, grapefruit and mandarin. The citrus fizzes like homemade lemonade. Passion fruit arrives next, tart and slightly exotic, carried by a watery note. Ylang-ylang and orange blossom add a sunny floral touch. The base settles for a clean, light white musk. Depth is not the goal here, and that is fine. Compared with Pamplelune, the Aqua Allegoria built on grapefruit, Passiflora is fruitier and less sulphurous. It seems to have left the catalogue around 2021. That is a small loss, since it was one of the few tropical scents with no coconut in sight. Remaining bottles still turn up at some retailers.
When to wear it
