What does Chrome Sport smell like?
After Chrome in 1996, Azzaro asked Michel Almairac for a sport version, which came out in February 2010. The bottle got slimmer, in frosted blue glass. The opening piles on citrus. Grapefruit and bergamot lead, followed by mandarin, citron and bitter orange. Grapefruit ends up on top, bitter and fizzy. In the heart, fresh ginger gives a slight sting, surrounded by watery notes and green grass. Picture a locker room after a shower, door open to the garden. The base stays light with white musk, a hint of amber and quiet woods. It's an unpretentious scent, made to be sprayed freely. The original Chrome relied on a soapier metallic aquatic accord. Chrome Sport is tarter and more direct, but it also fades sooner. After three hours, only a clean musk remains close to the skin.
When to wear it
A summer eau de toilette for weekends or the gym. Plan on a top-up in the afternoon, as it fades fast.
