Our take
What does Terracotta Le Parfum smell like?
Guerlain launched Terracotta Le Parfum in summer 2014 as a limited edition to go with its famous bronzing powder. Thierry Wasser composed it. Despite the name, it is an eau de toilette. Bergamot opens next to a milky coconut. Tiare flower arrives almost at once. It brings to mind beaches and monoi oil without the heaviness. White flowers fill the heart. Jasmine, ylang-ylang and orange blossom stay light, with an almost lemony glow. The base settles on soft vanilla and musk. This is the least interesting part and a little predictable. Compared with Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess, Terracotta Le Parfum is more floral and creamier, though much less woody. Guerlain brought it back in later summers, so it tends to return each season. It is best worn on bare shoulders in July.
