Our take
What does Ella Ella smell like?
Cacharel announced Ella Ella in January 2025 with a clearly young audience in mind. Dominique Ropion, one of the noses behind La Vie est Belle, wrote it as an eau de parfum. The opening pairs bergamot with coconut. It smells more like expensive sunscreen than a cocktail, and the zest keeps the milky side light. Orange blossom then takes over. Jasmine sambac gives it body and a faint indolic edge, never enough to scare anyone. The base sets round Bourbon vanilla against patchouli, which stops it going soft. That patchouli is why some retailers file it under floral chypre. On skin, though, the vanilla wins. Next to Cacharel's own Yes I Am, which is creamier and spicier, Ella Ella feels sunnier and lighter. The house is back in a cheerful floral mood that recalls the Anaïs Anaïs years, in a sweeter key.
When to wear it
Made for warm days, daytime plans or a relaxed date. Two sprays on the neck, since the vanilla projects well.
It belongs to the Floral, Chypre family. Ella Ella is one of 14 creations by Cacharel in our encyclopedia.
