Our take
What does Miracle So Magic! smell like?
Lancôme released Miracle So Magic in 2004, four years after Miracle. The house doesn't put a perfumer's name forward. The opening mixes pink pepper, violet, dog rose and hazelnut. The hazelnut is the hook. Toasted and slightly milky, it gives a gourmand tone without heavy sugar. The heart is greener than expected. Clover, narcissus, jasmine and lily form a slightly bitter bouquet that feels like early spring. The base returns to comfort with amber, musk, vanilla and cedar. Compared with Miracle, which is spicier and more sheer, So Magic is softer and cosier. The hazelnut effect doesn't last very long. After that you get a fairly classic musky floral. We wish the nut had stayed to the end. Without it the scent loses most of what set it apart from its sister.
