Our take
What does Miracle Homme smell like?
A year after the women's Miracle, Lancôme launched Miracle Homme in 2001. Francis Kurkdjian, who had not yet founded his own house, composed it. The opening is dry and sharp. Red pepper meets oakmoss, with a maple leaf note that adds a green, slightly sweet shade. The heart is the most original part. Roasted coffee sits on cedar and smells like an empty cup forgotten on a wooden desk. The base keeps going with woods: smoky guaiac, earthy vetiver and rosewood. The women's Miracle played on lychee and ginger in a bright register. Miracle Homme takes the opposite path with its brown tones. Few men's launches of that year dared to put coffee so close to the center. It never found its audience and seems to have left French shelves by the mid 2010s. It remains an interesting footnote in Kurkdjian's career.
