Our take
What does Le Premier Parfum smell like?
Lolita Lempicka’s first perfume came out in 1997 in its purple glass apple. Annick Menardo composed it, with Christian Dussoulier co-credited by some sources. It was later sold as Le Premier Parfum. The opening is still surprising today. A very green, almost bitter ivy mingles with star anise and violet. The heart brings in licorice, the perfume’s central note. Candied cherry joins it with iris and amaryllis. It is candy, but witch’s candy, dark and slightly medicinal. The base softens everything. Vanilla, praline and tonka bean add the sweetness while vetiver and musk keep a little dryness. Next to Mugler’s Angel, released five years earlier, Lolita Lempicka is greener and has less chocolate. Smell it once and it sticks with you.
When to wear it
Wear it in autumn and winter, preferably at night. One spray is enough since the anise and praline project a lot.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber family. Le Premier Parfum is one of 5 creations by Lolita Lempicka in our encyclopedia.
