What does Ani smell like?
Composed by Cécile Zarokian for the Istanbul house Nishane, Ani is named after an ancient ruined city in eastern Anatolia. Launched in 2019 as an extrait, it pairs bright spices with deep vanilla. The opening is luminous and sharp: lemon, bergamot, zingy ginger, green cardamom and pink pepper. The heart surprises with aromatic lavender, earthy patchouli and a discreet rose that add depth. The base is rich and creamy: vanilla, sandalwood, cedar, musk and ambergris form an enveloping, slightly salty finish. It evokes spiced pastry without excess sugar, with a liveliness the ginger sustains to the end. Longevity is exceptional.
When to wear it
For cool weather, evenings or a date; it suits lovers of spiced vanillas and scents with character.
