Our take
What does Olympéa Legend smell like?
Paco Rabanne extended Olympéa in 2019 with Legend, an eau de parfum composed by Loc Dong. The top plays on contrast. Plum and apricot give sweet, slightly candied flesh, and then sea salt bites into it. That is the salted vanilla idea that made Olympéa a hit in 2015. The heart is floral without pointing at any single flower. Ginger flower adds a peppery, almost lemony freshness that lightens the plum. The base is where it gets generous. Vanilla, amber and tonka spread over what the brand calls a warm sand note. Picture skin after an afternoon in the sun, with a trace of sunscreen left on it. The apricot never quite leaves and gives the drydown a jammy softness. Compared with the original Olympéa, Legend is fruitier and denser. It loses some of the salty lightness that made the first one so likeable.
When to wear it
An evening scent for autumn and winter, best kept for dates. Two sprays are enough because the amber base takes up a lot of room.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Olympéa Legend is one of 35 creations by Paco Rabanne in our encyclopedia.
