Our take
What does Black XS for Her smell like?
Paco Rabanne released Black XS for Her in 2007 as the feminine partner to Black XS. Emilie Coppermann and Mark Buxton composed it, and it came in 30, 50 and 80 ml bottles. The opening is sour: cranberry, pink pepper and tamarind blossom prick the nose first. Then rose (a hellebore accord, the Christmas rose) meets black violet. Cacao flower bridges the gap to the base. That base is openly gourmand. Vanilla leads, backed by patchouli and massoia wood, which smells of coconut and warm milk. The result is like a sour candy perched on a chocolate cake. The black studded packaging plays rock and roll, while the scent itself is much tamer. Next to Dior's Hypnotic Poison, another dark vanilla, Black XS for Her is fruitier and far less almondy. It also has less depth.
When to wear it
For autumn and winter nights, out with friends or on a date. Two sprays are enough because the vanilla base fills the room fast.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Black XS for Her is one of 35 creations by Paco Rabanne in our encyclopedia.
