Our take
What does Flowerbomb Bloom smell like?
Viktor & Rolf launched Flowerbomb Bloom in February 2017 as a spring version of the 2005 Flowerbomb. Domitille Bertier, one of the original’s three authors, composed this eau de toilette. The house called it an airier sister. The opening is juicy. Pomegranate brings red tartness and mandarin a soft zest. The heart keeps the original bouquet of freesia, damask rose and jasmine. The new element is a liquid air accord, a cool and almost ozonic note the brand presented as a first. It gives the bouquet an open-window feel. The base stays light with a discreet patchouli and clean musk. The original Flowerbomb is a mass of sugar and patchouli. Bloom keeps its outline and removes most of the sugar. That makes it easier to wear, but it also loses what made its sister strong.
When to wear it
For spring and summer days in town or at the weekend. Three sprays, refreshed late in the afternoon.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Flowerbomb Bloom is one of 12 creations by Viktor & Rolf in our encyclopedia.
