Our take
What does La Nuit de L'Homme Eau Électrique smell like?
Three perfumers signed La Nuit de L’Homme Eau Électrique in 2017: Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo. Yves Saint Laurent wanted a fresher take on La Nuit de L’Homme that still aimed at seduction. The opening is tart. Bergamot, mandarin and above all green apple give it a crisp bite. The heart returns to a classic fougère of lavender, geranium and aromatic sage, lit up by orange blossom absolute. The base mixes cedar, cashmere wood, vetiver and patchouli. A light vanilla rounds it off and reminds you which family you are in. The 2009 La Nuit de L’Homme was built on cardamom. Eau Électrique drops the spice and gains fruity freshness, and it loses some character on the way. Don’t confuse it with Bleu Électrique from 2021, a different scent. Eau Électrique is getting harder to find in stores.
