What does Thank U, Next smell like?
Ariana Grande released Thank U, Next in August 2019, a few months after the album of the same name. It went online first and hit stores in September as an Ulta exclusive in the US. White pear and white raspberry open it. The pear barely registers. The raspberry gives a tart candy feel. The heart is what matters here. Coconut cream takes over, smooth and fairly realistic, with a few rose petals to break up the monotony. The base adds macaron sugar and a soft musk. It stays light for a gourmand, with no heavy vanilla or caramel. Cloud, the singer's best seller, had come out the year before. Thank U, Next is fruitier and less creamy in the drydown. It smells like luxury sunscreen, which will win some people over and put others off.
When to wear it
Wear it in summer or on holiday, when coconut makes sense. Three sprays on clothes help it last.
