Our take
What does Jeanne Lanvin smell like?
In 2008 Lanvin named a new women's scent after its founder. The bottle was developed under Alber Elbaz, the house's artistic director at the time. The opening is tart: blackberry, juicy pear and a streak of lemon that can turn a little loud on some skins. Peony leads the heart. Raspberry gives it a candied edge while freesia and a touch of rose keep it airy. The base stays quiet, with soft sandalwood, amber and white musk. Nothing heavy here. Despite the eau de parfum label it wears almost like a cologne and fades within a few hours. Next to Miss Dior Chérie, another fruity floral from the same years, Jeanne Lanvin is less sugary and more see-through. It belongs to the well-behaved girl's scents of the late 2000s, and it shows its age a little.
When to wear it
Wear it on spring weekends when you want to smell nice without drawing attention. Spray generously since it doesn't last long on skin.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Jeanne Lanvin is one of 14 creations by Lanvin in our encyclopedia.
