Our take
What does Agua del Sol smell like?
Escada announced Agua del Sol in November 2015 as its limited edition for summer 2016, continuing a run of bright seasonal releases that included Born in Paradise and Turquoise Summer. The perfumer was not disclosed. It smells like a frozen dessert from the first second. Mandarin, nashi pear and raspberry sorbet lead, while a little pink pepper keeps it from tipping into candy. In the heart a fruity rose blends with apricot and a vague fruit cocktail. The base follows the brand's usual pattern. Tonka bean, sandalwood and white musk leave warm, faintly creamy skin. There is no nuance to look for here. Agua del Sol aims for instant good mood and owns it. Next to a drier summer scent such as Eau de Rochas, it feels much sweeter and much younger. Like every Escada limited edition, it has since left the shelves.
When to wear it
Wear it on holiday, on skin fresh from the beach. Two or three sprays on the wrists are enough.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Agua del Sol is one of 11 creations by Escada in our encyclopedia.
