What does Club de Nuit Intense Man smell like?
Armaf, a Sterling Parfums brand, launched Club de Nuit Intense Man in 2015 as a 105 ml eau de toilette. No perfumer is named. The opening is unusually sharp: lemon so tart it almost stings, backed by bergamot and pineapple. Green apple and a touch of blackcurrant trail behind. Anyone expecting a soft fruity start gets a jolt. Within minutes smoky birch takes over and gives the scent its personality. You get burnt wood and boot leather. Jasmine and rose stay backstage. The base settles on musk, ambergris and dry patchouli, with a whisper of vanilla. That pineapple and birch structure is why it is so often compared to Creed's Aventus. Eau de parfum, parfum and limited editions followed later. For an eau de toilette, the original lasts remarkably long.
When to wear it
Evenings and cool weather, since the smoky lemon turns heavy in real heat. One or two sprays, never more.
