What does Live Irrésistible Blossom Crush smell like?
Givenchy spun off Live Irrésistible in 2018 with Blossom Crush, a lighter eau de toilette. Dominique Ropion composed it. The brand highlights three things: rose, peony and cocoa bean. The opening is tart thanks to bitter orange and bergamot. It slides quickly into a very springlike fruity heart. Apple, blackcurrant and raspberry surround the peony. The rose stays bright and never turns jammy. Cocoa is the smart move here. It brings a dry bitterness that breaks the sweetness at just the right moment. Behind it, vanilla and Cashmeran join an amber wood to form a soft musky base. Compared with the 2015 Live Irrésistible, Blossom Crush feels fresher and less sugary. It is still a mainstream flanker, pleasant and without surprises. On paper it reads like a teenage scent. On skin the cocoa makes it a little more grown up.
When to wear it
A spring scent for daytime or a first date. Three sprays are not too many, since it wears off quickly.
