What does Image smell like?
Cerruti released Image in 1998 as a men's eau de toilette. Ursula Wandel is credited as the perfumer. The opening is fruity and green. Pear leads, backed by plum and a banana leaf that smells of sap. Black pepper adds a little bite, just enough to keep it from turning syrupy. In the heart, cypress and fig leaf bring the freshness of a Mediterranean garden. Jasmine stays in the background. Guaiac wood already hints at smoke. The base blends Tahitian vetiver with cedar and sandalwood, plus a little patchouli, musk and amber. It keeps a clean aromatic feel that is very late nineties. Next to Cerruti 1881 pour Homme from 1990, Image is fruitier and less lavender-heavy. It is also lighter. Longevity is average, as is often the case in this style.
When to wear it
A daytime scent for spring and summer, at the office or on weekends. Use three sprays on skin, since it fades within a few hours.
