Our take
What does Image Femme smell like?
Cerruti launched Image Femme in 2000 as the female partner to Image for men. Harry Fremont composed it. On paper it is one more citrus aromatic from an era full of them. On skin it has a twist. The grapefruit opening is dry and peppered, with green notes that recall a freshly snapped stem. Mint follows, cold and almost mentholated, with no sweetness at all. Then the base shifts gear. Smoky birch and a hint of leather show up, carried by Virginia cedar and a little amber. That contrast between the fresh start and the darker finish is the whole point. CK One, another citrus from the same decade, stays clean to the end. Image Femme closes on something close to burnt wood. Longevity is modest, as is often the case with this kind of eau de toilette.
When to wear it
Good for summer office days or weekends when you want freshness without florals. Spray generously and plan a top-up in the afternoon.
It belongs to the Citrus, Aromatic family. Image Femme is one of 8 creations by Cerruti in our encyclopedia.
