Our take
What does Sauvage Very Cool Spray smell like?
In spring 2017 Dior offered Sauvage Very Cool Spray, a limited summer take on the 2015 Sauvage eau de toilette. François Demachy kept the structure and pushed it toward freshness. The bottle came with a spray head designed to feel cold on skin. The opening is more citrusy than the original. Grapefruit and bergamot lead while pink pepper adds bite. The heart stays loyal to Sauvage. Lavender, Sichuan pepper, geranium and elemi share it with a thread of patchouli and vetiver. In the base you instantly recognize the ambroxan that made the line a hit, set on cedar and a touch of labdanum. Next to Sauvage, Very Cool Spray feels airier and less muscular. The ambroxan is still there, only turned down. This edition is no longer made.
